So, you want a facial but you are not quite sure of the significance of the massage part??? Well, it is very simple and makes a huge difference.
Massaging the face softens expression-induced lines around your eyes, lips and brows. Smoothing those tense muscles that we constantly use on a daily basis during expressions or conversation, can have a tremendous impact of keeping your skin looking healthy and younger. A repetition of relaxing them through massage methods can lift, tighten and firm in order to keep the elasticity (firmness) in your skin!
It also helps lift up acne-causing toxins, oils and impurities which usually lie way beneath the top layer/surface of your skin. Sebum is the name of oil that builds up underneath the top layer of skin and too much of it,lying dormant, can cause clogged pores which causes break-outs and acne. If stimulated and lifted during a facial massage, one can avoid the excessive build up which in turn can reduce acne.
Facial massages can also reduce puffiness and brighten the eye area.If done correctly, you are able to have your lymph nodes drained in order for puffiness to be reduced in the face. The ones in certain parts of your face can become enlarged or inflamed, especially during allergy season as a reaction to the allergens. So, many do not know this about fluid build up in the skin and face. Naturally, you would not know that it can reduce overall puffiness in the face.
Another benefit is that it increases circulation, oxygenating the blood and encouraging the presence of fresh, healing red blood cells. With these new cells, your whole entire appearance of skin could improve entirely just from having regular stimulation to skin through a facial.
In summary, most think that facial massages are solely for relaxation. However, it can improve many aspects of your skin health!
Happy massaging and remember to not leave this significant portion of the facial out! 🙂
